Working Independently Within the Law, June 2007

On 21st June 2007, the initial course run by Therapy Learning was the very successful 'Working Independently Within the Law' day. Howard Thomas gave a humorous and thought provoking day to a full house.

35 delegates attended the course entitiled ‘Working Independently Within the Law’ at the Hilton East Midlands Airport Hotel, travelling from as far afield as Plymouth, Tunbridge Wells and Edinburgh.

Everyone went home with a better understanding of being able to practice in a safe and legal manner. Nearly all realised that they would have to change some of their documentation and record keeping.

In the feedback from the delegates, 27 people rated Howard Thomas as an excellent speaker. Overall, most delegates felt that the day went well, one delegate saying ‘This has been an excellent day, well run and managed - the speaker has been interesting and dynamic from the first session to the last.’ Another one said ‘Law seems more reasonable now’.

With people unable to attend on the day, a waiting list has been started - a repeat course and a further course are on the way in 2009. Therapy Learning is also following up suggestions to hold this course in other locations - maybe Reading and/or Edinburgh. Keep an eye on the website for further information.
